Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal

Hello friends and Family! I hope that everyone is enjoying the summer ☀️.  Here it's getting cold and recently it started raining a lot and everyone panicked because some of the reservoirs got contaminated and they were talking about turning the water off in certain parts of Santiago, so the mission told us to go buy jugs of water "al tiro" immediately. But they never turned off the water so we are chillin.  The more time I spend teaching people about the teachings of Jesus Christ the more I realize how simple and effective his message really was and is. Think about the title of this email. Are your goals and plans for your life helping you to be carnally-minded or spiritually-minded? Are you living your life in a way that you can remember Christ and what he did for you or are you pushing against the spiritual current because you're spending time dwelling on worldly images and opinions.  I am so imperfect but I have faith that Jesus was made perfect after his glori...

Jason’s Baptism

Image
Because of the flooding in Santiago and possible water contamination and talk of the water being shut off, Kody and Elder Lonnecker filled up the font the night before for their friend Jason’s baptism. They were amazed when they went the next day for the baptism and the water was still warm.

Mission life with Elder Lonnecker

Kody and Elder Lonnecker are staying together for one more transfer. Kody was thrilled! They get along great and have had a lot of success as zone leaders. I wish I could add videos to this blog book, they send so many of them lifting weights, going on runs, reenacting Book of Mormon stories, making motivational videos for their zone etc. The weather is getting very rainy and cold.

Visit from Elder and Sister Soares

Image
This weekend we had a visit from Elder Ulysses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Rosana, along with Elder Craig C. Christensen and his wife, Debbie. It was a wonderful weekend! Elder Soares shared what it means to be a successful missionary and taught us how to gain spiritual power. He shared a powerful witness of the Savior. Our mission has been blessed to have been visited by three apostles and the presidents of two auxiliaries and members of the seventy since last June! Elder Christofferson, Elder Renlund and Elder Soares. Sister Porter of the Primary and Sister Johnson of the Relief Society. Elders Kearon, Walker, Christensen, and Godoy. I will post the picture of our mission with Elder Soares when we receive it. Ask your missionaries what they learned from his visit this past weekend.

Combined District Council, June 1, 2023. Once a month, the Thursday after Leader Council, we have that meeting where all the districts in the area meet to discuss their goals, teach each other, and receive training from the Sister Leaders and Area Leaders.

Leader Council and other mission fun

We didn’t get to hear from Kody this week, but I hope that means he is was enjoying his PDay with Elder Lonnecker. He did upload a bunch of crazy videos of ferocious dogs, a reenactment of Hagoth from the Book of Mormon, buzzing their hair, and lots of getting in shape
