Trying to get to Santiago!

Kody flew from St. George to Phoenix at 12:40 on Thursday afternoon, waited 4 hours, boarded his flight to Dallas, got clear to the runway and his flight was canceled! He spent the next 2 hours getting his flight rescheduled for the next day while mom called her relatives in Arizona and found uncle Troy who was willing to come pick him up, take him to dinner and provide a bed for the night. They were both so grateful!! The airline assured him his two bags containing everything he had for the next two years would be transferred to his next flight. After he left the airport with uncle Troy the airport called me and said his bag was at the carousel waiting to be picked up! I told them it was supposed to be transferred to his next flight. They said okay and hung up. I tried to call baggage all night and got no one. The next morning he re did his covid paperwork and headed back to the airport. Thankfully his first covid test we did Tuesday was delayed and we were forced to get a local one Wednesday. That Wednesday test will not hit the 72 hour expiration until Saturday! He stopped at the American Airlines desk to find out where his bag was and make sure it would be on his flight. They assured him it would.  Well at 10:00 he boarded American Airlines for New York with only one bag one board. Baggage claim was unreachable and I just prayed that Heavenly Father would somehow get his bag to him. He got to New York and finally found one more elder (who was very quite and depressed and didn't want to talk), but at least now he had a travel buddy! He made it onto his flight to Santiago, then sat for 3 hours on the plane waiting for a storm to pass before taking off. 13 hours later he was there!  He miraculously made it through immigration with just a few hours to spare before his negative covid result expired. And had 1 bag waiting for him, no idea where the other bag is. He got through a long customs line and the mission president's wife was there waiting for him. I am sure he just wanted to burst into tears. I DID!  He was so calm and positive through the entire 2 days of traveling. This baptism by fire will get his mission started out great!
