This is Kody and his companion Elder Brasher retelling a miracle that occurred in their mission. The video is on Facebook. They were scheduled to go to family home evening at a members home. A young family with two children. When they got there the wife said “I’m sorry but my husband is at a church meeting and is not home yet.” And asked them to come back in 15 minutes. They left thinking “okay what are we going to do for 15 minutes.” They prayed and decided to knock on a door a few houses down. A little old woman came to the door and said “you got me out of bed, I thought you might have been someone important.” They laughed with her and said “we have an important message to tell you.” They proceeded to talk with her about who they were and Jesus Christ and at one point she broke down crying and told them how hard it was because she had no family around and her significant other worked all night long. Her neighbors were mean and loud and she was often scared. The entire time she was talking Kody kept having the feeling “we need to invite her to family home evening” elder Basher was having the same prompting because before Kody could say anything he asked her to come join them at a neighbors a few houses down to visit and share stories of Jesus. And she accepted! The young family accepted her like their grandmother and the 7 year old daughter taught her all about the story of the tree of life. They ate pie and invited her to church on Sunday. The father told her during the evening how the Lord has his hand in her life. If he hadn’t been detained at a meeting the elders never would have knocked on her door and they would not have met her. She found caring neighbors that now look out for her. Kody has every hope that she will join the church and come to realize that that knock on her door that night was someone very important. It was the Lord working though his missionaries to find one of his beloved daughters and bring her the joy and fellowship of the gospel.
