"Don't let today be held hostage by yesterday"

Image
Hello my family and friends. I love and miss you all. I hope you are all doing awesome! I don't have a lot of time to talk right now. But life is good and God is good. And I just wanted to share an impression I had recently as I went to the temple.  Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the  author  and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. We are all going through this earthly experience and living our story. Sometimes we try to write our own story, be the author of our story. But if we trust in and let our Savior be the author, our story will be more glorious and more joyful than we could ever imagine.  Some pics, love you all, would love to hear from ya😁

Chile Independence Day

Image
Kody didn’t call today, we hope he is busy with the work and having fun with his district this PDay. He helped host a district barbecue  and sent a picture. Looks like it turned out great! The 18th of September is also Chile Independence Day. The work was slow because everyone was celebrating.

So much going on

Kody had a lot going on this week. They had Missionary correlation and the ward mission leader cooked them a ton of meat. He says the ward he is in now is amazing when it comes to missionary work.  They have also begun teaching English Lessons every Tuesday which have been going really well. Kody has really enjoyed singing. He and his companion Elder Ferrin who is also a great singer have sang in the ward choir and also sang at a few baptisms.  Kody was able to attend a baptism this week and give a talk. There have been riots still going on and they are still loving fried Oreos. They got to switch bikes with the AP’s one day and the AP’s came back and told them they need new bikes! They are having someone come look at them.

Another week with Elder Ferrin

Kody was a little bummed that they only had 2 friends join them for church, but he is doing great! He told us a story of one of their friends Sergio who was contemplating suicide. They gave him a Book of Mormon and some reading assignments and when they saw him next he said he read them the night before and when he woke up the next day he had no desire to kill himself. He has since been wanting to be at every activity they have.  They have another friend who they are trying to convince not to murder his wife and her lover…scary! Also there has been some unrest in Chile as the people have wanted to overturn the constitution. It was voted down and now they are worried about riots and unrest. This caused the missionaries to have to be back in their apartments early one night. So what do they do? Deep fry Oreos, bananas, olives, peanut butter, eggs, you name it. When the oil turned black they decided it may not be very good for their health and stopped.

Another PDay

We got to talk to Kody today and he did not get transferred and is still staining Elder Ferrin. He says there will be a lot of trainers because there are so many new missionaries coming. He seems happy and is doing well.
