“Si yo pudiera ver al Salvador, cuidando de mí"

Image
Hello Friends and Family! I love you all! I am grateful for all the prayers and love! I am grateful for all the wonderful examples of valiant disciples of Jesus Christ that love and surround me. I am healthy and happy. Enjoying the work in this new area. I have tried my best to jump in with both feet, serve and get to know the members, work hard and be an example for the Elders around me. However, I have so much I need to learn and improve, it's astounding.  But I trust and have faith in the promise of my Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ. That through his loving sacrifice he has received the mercy and power to change my heart and my  nature.   I have learned there is a difference between the temporary change of  behavior  that we can bring to pass through self-improvement and getting out of our comfort zone, and the lasting and unforgettable change of our  nature  that the Lord can bring to pass through repentance and following his commandments. Transfers- Baquedano and Elder Hayes

Image
Hola a todos. Espero que todos estén muy bien. I'm currently sitting in Chili's in Chile😎. I was transferred last pday to an area called "baquedano" right next to where i was already serving in "Portales2". Im finishing the training of Elder Hayes, I'm still a district leader in the San Bernardo zone but my district changed. I miss my last greenie🤣elder Ferrin. After 2 transfers together we became really good friends. I can tell I will have to develop mucho amor y paciencia this transfer. And recently it has been hard for me to not be able to talk Spanish a ton with Elder Hayes. He is awesome and works really hard but he doesn't have the knack for spanish like Elder Ferrin. 3 1/2 weeks before the end of the transfer we made a pact with our pinky fingers that we wouldn't speak english until the day that one of us was going to leave. That really helped my spanish. I'm very grateful for the privilege to help, learn from, and teach a new miss...

Last week with Elder Ferrin

Image
Kody found out he is being transferred on Tuesday to be a district leader for another district and train a new elder. It has been hard for him to say goodbye to all the new friends he has made in this area and especially Elder Ferrin. They have become really close. They went on a hike on their P-Day as a district and then he packed and spent the rest of the day saying goodbye.

A Scary Bike Accident

Image
Coming back late from an appointment Elder Ferrin mentioned he though his breaks were going out. Kody was ahead of him a good 20 feet when he heard a bang and turned around and saw Elder Ferrin was lying unmoving on the ground. Kody got to him as fast as he could.  He didn’t move for a minute and Kody was terrified. He came to and said that his entire front wheel had come off and his bike came to a thudding stop making him hit his throat on the handle cross bar and flipping him over his bike. He couldn’t breath for a minute from hitting his throat and back so hard. Amazingly his only injuries other than a very sore neck and trouble swallowing was some deep gashes on his hands. Thankfully some people stopped when they saw the accident and someone had a vehicle large enough to get them and their bikes home. As soon as they got back to the apartment and the AP’s heard what happened they called the mission president and told him they needed new bikes…finally!

Sharing my Halloween Package

Image
I sent a package that had miscellaneous candy bars in a bag with a scripture attached to the outside. They had to read the scripture and then guess the Candy that went along with it. Kody was able to use it with his district. They have also been having a lot of success teaching English Lessons.

Conference!

Kody was able to watch all the sessions of conference at members homes or with his roomies. One session in particular didn’t air in Chile until 9 at night and they got to stay up late and watch.

Checking out a New Tourist Spot

Image
The Mission President asked The AP,s and Kody and his companion to go check out a new tourist spot for the mission and see if it was okay to let missionaries visit on their p-days. It was in downtown Santiago. They went to the presidential mansion and a cathedral. They said it was great other than a lot of prostitutes around asking if they wanted Amor. So maybe not. It was a fun day though!
