Christmas

Image
Elder Wastlund and Elder Correa sent me a cute picture of them in their Christmas Jammies I sent. They went to the branch presidents house for dinner, donuts and a late night. I guess in Chile they celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. They have a late dinner and then open gifts at midnight. They were very full and very tired. Elder Wastlund called us at 7am this morning and opened his presents with us. It is amazing to be able to spend Christmas with our missionary on the other side of the world. I even got a few pictures of them wearing the Christmas ties I sent.

1 year done and Christmas!!

I didn’t get to talk to Kody this week and wish him a Merry Christmas or Congrats for one year done, but he posted these pics on our shared google photo. Looks like he is doing great! So proud of him. We are hoping to hear from him on Christmas in 3 days.

Loving Mission life

Kody just loves Elder Correa. They get along great and he is learning so much. It is hard for him to speak English when he calls. When we talked to him Monday they were waiting at the church for the sister missionaries to leave the building so they could go in and play ping pong. Apparently Elder Correa is amazing at ping pong! Kody will give us a run for our money when we play him when he gets back. They have had some great teaching moments and had some friends join them at church. The senior missionaries came over to check their apartment this week and they had to scrub the mold and grease from behind the stove and the bathroom, but other than that there apartment was pretty clean. They helped them fix a few things as well.

Combined District Council

Image
Elder Wastlund and Elder Correa had to run to a lesson and were the only two not in the picture from their district in Buin. They did a great job as Zone Leaders doing role plays on the stage teaching the districts in their zone from Buin, San Miguel, Los Alerces, San Bernardo, La Cisterna, and Los Aviadores.

HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS🎄

Image
Hello Family and beloved friends! It was a weeeek. It is Summer! The sun hits differently here in Chile, maybe it's because we never really left the house in St. George, but we are outside all day every day. I've been here in Jardines for 2 weeks now and man, the time has flown! I literally can't remember being in my last area Baquedano. Our branch finally got a mission leader which is awesome. Being here in this district that we're trying to make a Stake, really puts in perspective what the Lord is doing to prepare his church and his people for when he comes again. The mission is focusing on establishing and strengthening the church because Chile has baptized a lot, but the church hasn't been growing like other places.  A couple things that we did this week. 1. Combined District Council with the whole Zone(we did role plays on the stage😅) 2. We painted this outside restaurant of a member that gives us lunch a lot 😋. 3. We had 2 baptisms the weekend I got here. ...

Elder Correa

Kody was transferred to a new area in Buin near his very first area Hospital and was asked to serve as Zone leader. He had been training and serving as district leader the last few transfers and had asked Heavenly Father for a more seasoned companion who spoke Spanish to help him progress and that is just what her got. He loves elder Correa and is learning so much from him. They have had some friends be baptized and are serving their entire zone.

Christmas package

Image
I got the best Christmas gift ever! Pics of my missionary and his companion with the Christmas packages I sent. I dropped them off at the post office and then prayed every night that they would make it safely to Chile. Elder Wastlund loves his new companion elder Correa and area where he is currently serving as Zone leader. Every time I talk to him he has a smile on his face and is glowing with the spirit. So thankful!

We had a mission tour November 23-25 with elder and sister Christensen. It was a special few days full of testimonies, learnings and laughter.
