Missionary Monday. Zone conference, lots of bike problems and also many miracles. Elder Kody Wastlund said he felt your prayers for him to learn the language. Keep them coming!

"Love is no secret, look all around you, Welcome to this day"

Hello everyone. I Don't have much time but wanted to say how much I love you all. Literally, every single one of you. I am blessed with the most amazing people in my life. Mission is awesome. I know with all my heart that Jesus Christ lives and is our Savior and Redeemer. Now I just need to learn Chilean so I can help other people come to that knowledge. We meet so many amazing people with so many different experiences. My only heartache is that I can't express my love for them because I don't speak their language. - "Love is no secret, look all around you, welcome to this day." These words from the movie brother bear I sing in my mind every day as I am leaving.  -We got to eat at a members home who is a doctor, they have exotic animals and fed us well. -We biked 50 miles to Anacostia and saw this beautiful pool. If I weren't a missionary I would jump in! -Many visits and lessons - Yummy bread made by a member - So many bike problems

The Suitcase Has Arrived!!!

I was a mess knowing Kody's bag was lost. I spent month's trying to prepare every little thing he could possibly need. It was my way of caring for my son and sending my love with him. I spent numerous days, and 11 hours on hold trying to pinpoint where his bag was and get it on it's way to Chile. I prayed so hard, pouring my heart out to Heavenly Father to please let him get his bag! I think the lost bag was more of a lesson to me. Missionaries used to leave their homes with only what they had on their backs. Then I remembered the scripture Kody chose for his plaque.  Luke 12:29–32 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 31 ¶ But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. He...

A Note From Kimball

February 06, 2022 SEE YOU LATER KODY! ON TO GREATNESS After a long few days of flights/cancellations/delays/lost baggage Kody got to Chile. My mom was/is a hot mess over it all. She just wants him to have all the things she prepared for him.  Ben will miss his ping pong buddy. I will miss talking with Kody. We are both so stoked for him. We know it will be really hard, but it's supposed to be. I imagine he is going to have his faith, confidence, and charity strengthened. This little brother of mine is going to go on to do big things!  When we're waving to Kody through the glass you can see me in the reflection throwing a peace sign :) The last picture is Lizzie & mom talking with Kody (in his first area). Lizzie wanted to sit and listen. He told us they bike over 20 miles a day in his area. He is in 1 of the 2 areas that bike. They also bike on the freeway and he dropped one of his sandwiches while biking (after fasting), bummer! Atleast he had one left and his comp split ...

Love from Home!

We tried sending Kody his first package. We will see if it gets there. I also ordered him a bike seat, basket and water bottle holder since he bikes so much! The basket can come off and be used for shopping and then hooked on to his bike to carry his groceries home.  Hope it works.

The First Few Days Be Kinda Rough!

Image
Hola . First 3 days of the mission been kinda rough for me haha. A little spoiled boy from Utah that doesn't know much needs a long time before I get used to everything here. ARRIVING TO THE MISSION: I arrived on Saturday around  noon and after days of traveling and only getting maybe 3 hours trying to sleep cramped in an airplane overnight i was lacking much sleep and water. Then I was told they had just started the mission fast and so I fasted 24 hours after that. Haha  We live in a little all wooden house in the very south outskirt country of santiago. The wood makes the heat stay in for some reason so it's super hot so let's  just say I haven't been sleeping with a blanket. We couldn't leave the house Saturday because I didn't have my covid results back.  On Sunday we went to church which is at this dirt lot in Hospital(Hospital is the little town that we go to almost every day). There were about 20 people there ,me and Elder Stoker did all t...
