Kody

  This is Kody and his companion Elder Brasher retelling a miracle that occurred in their mission. The video is on Facebook. They were scheduled to go to family home evening at a members home. A young family with two children. When they got there the wife said “I’m sorry but my husband is at a church meeting and is not home yet.” And asked them to come back in 15 minutes. They left thinking “okay what are we going to do for 15 minutes.” They prayed and decided to knock on a door a few houses down. A little old woman came to the door and said “you got me out of bed, I thought you might have been someone important.”  They laughed with her and said “we have an important message to tell you.” They proceeded to talk with her about who they were and Jesus Christ and at one point she broke down crying and told them how hard it was because she had no family around and her significant other worked all night long.  So Kody has just started buzzing his hair so he only has to do it once a transfer. He is getting better every time. 

 

Kody was finally able to tell us about transfers. He had no clue he was being transferred. He and elder Savage were out on their bikes when a strange call came in. They answered and the caller said "We will be there in 10 minutes to pick up Elder Wastlund."  He was in total shock! He took off on his bike and left elder Savage in the dust. Thankfully the driver got lost and gave him a few extra minutes. He just had to throw everything into his suitcases and was whisked away. He was sent to San Bernardo where the mission home is. He is in a teeny tiny apartment with 3 other elders and loves it. They went to the mall and when he walked into the food court he said he felt like he was in America again. There is a lot of work there and they are very busy.   This week was also a mission wide conference with Elder Christofferson and Elder Kearon. He said it was awesome! Kody asked us to send him some hair clippers. He didn't want to waste the time and money to go get it cut. Garrett sent him a video of him cutting his own hair and Kody did pretty good for his first attempt. His companion helped his with the line on the sideburns and back. Lookin good!

My weeks been super good, a lot of freezing cold showers(our water heater froze, expanded, and broke🙃this winter is one of the coldest winters in Chile in 100 years), chicken nuggets, biking in mud, trying to bike in mud, cleaning up mass amount of dog poop, sprinting a couple blocks with heavy bags just to miss the train and wait another hour, pedals falling off of bikes, standing up on my bike to start riding and forgetting that it's in the lowest gear and completely biffing it🤣, and a lot of people coming to church with us🥳🥳. Because a lot of people don't have cars here, and the chapel(that kinda just looks like a big house with a "visitors welcome" sign posted outside) is very far for a lot of our friends, we were scrambling everywhere trying to get as many of our f...
